Yangon - Kyaing Tong - Monglar - Yangon

DAY 1 Arrive Yangon

Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Welcomed by our well experience tour guide. Yangon sightseeing starts with Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, the most well-known Buddhist temple in Yangon where a huge reclining Buddha image is housed. Then proceed to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments and enjoy your visit to this gorgeous pagoda, which is believed to be 2,500 years old. The central stupa, glittering in the soft evening light, is surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues and is considered to be the symbol of Yangon. After visiting, drive back to hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 2 Yangon - Kyaing Tong

After breakfast, take a flight to Kyaing Tong which is set against a picturesque mountain backdrop. Drive to the hotel for check-in. Sightseeing includes the standing Buddha located near the picturesque Naung Tong lake on the west side of Kyaing Tong and One Tree Hill (Thit Ta Bin Taung in Burmese), where you will find a huge, solitary 250-year old tree and great views of the area – which are particularly attractive at sunset. Overnight @ Hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Day 3 Kyaing Tong – Pin Tauk (Akha & Ann Tribe) – Kyaing Tong

After breakfast, start hiking tour into the Pin Tauk area. Lush mixed monsoon forest with a view to the plain rice fields looking like a huge, green patchwork blanket shimmering in the water of the flooded paddy fields. Your local guide will introduce you to the villagers of Aka and Ann tribes. Akha tribe, especially women are famous for their beautiful, elaborate and distinctive traditional costumes. Some are baptized, some tribes are still animists. Ann people, known to be the kindest tribe, as there is no case up to nowadays where an Ann member has ever been violent. It will take about 6 hours to visit the villages, including visit to the houses. Late afternoon come back to Kyaing Tong and stay overnight at hotel.

DAY 4 Kyaing Tong - Mong La - Kyaing Tong (Trekking)

You will completely immerse into rural Myanmar Shan life this morning as you drive to the small village of Mong La. The drive follows a winding road with gorgeous views of mountains dotted with tribal villages and plantations. After around 2 hours’ drive (40 km), we'll arrive at the trailhead. The first hour of the trek features rolling, hilly terrain but mostly 20 to 30-degree slope. Along the way, we will stop at a 300-year-old wooden monastery with original carvings and paintings on both the interior and exterior walls. Inside the Buddha room, there are paintings of Jataka stories, ancient Buddha images and other impressive religious figures and furniture.

Continue to a short way to Wan Nyat, a unique long house village of the Loi People. The long houses of the Loi are typically the home of multiple generations of multiple families. The long houses are of beautifully poignant representation of the role of community and family to this rarely visited people. You will continue hiking for one more hour as your trail begins to flatten out along a bamboo forest until you reach a village named Wang Seng. The largest monastery in the area is located in this remote village and you will stop for relaxing lunch. After your visits, return to the vehicle and transfer back to Kyaing. Overnight at Hotel in Kyaing Tong.

DAY 5 Kyaing Tong - Loimwe – Kyaing Tong

Morning drive to nearby village, Loi-Mwe, translating to “misty mountain”, is a 1600m high plateau about 30km away from Kyaing Tong. Once it was recreation center of British army officers. You will see several decaying colonial buildings which are reminiscent of the colonial era. Once a British colonel lived here, who functioned as district commander and used this house as summer residence. The weather in the region is much colder than Kyaing Tong. Visit Akha village, see their ways of life and observe their traditional weaving industry. Overnight in Kyaing Tong.

DAY 6 Kyaing Tong – Yangon

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to nearby Palaung village (Wan Pauk). The Palaung tribes are known locally as "Silver" Palaung. A branch of the same tribe, locally called "Gold" Palaung, lives in Northern Shan State. Then you will be transferred to the airport to fly back to Yangon. Stay overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

DAY 7 Departure

Enjoy breakfast at Hotel and free at leisure till it is time to transfer to the airport for your departure flight. We hope you enjoyed your vacation with Myanmar Vision and we look forward to seeing you again for your next trip.
