Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Amarapura - Mingun - Mandalay - Yangon
Day 1 Yangon / Arrival
Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Welcomed by our well experience tour guide. Yangon sightseeing starts with Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, the most well-known Buddhist temple in Yangon where a huge reclining Buddha image is housed. Then proceed to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments and enjoy your visit to this gorgeous pagoda, which is believed to be 2,500 years old. The central stupa, glittering in the soft evening light, is surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues and is considered to be the symbol of Yangon. After visiting, drive back to hotel and stay overnight.
Day 2 Yangon-Bagan
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check-in. Today, you will explore and enjoy Bagan, the first (and very beautiful) capital of the Burmese and founded in the 11th century. This is one of the richest archaeological sites in South-east Asia, situated on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River. We'll wander local markets, historical pagodas, handicraft workshops and ancient temples. Sightseeing starts with the busy Nyaung Oo local market and continue your visit to a diverse selection of the most important Pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Gubyaukkyi, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, and Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior. Then visit Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. You will continue wandering the lacquer workshop to explore about the fascinating technique of this art. Visit the famous Thatbyinnyu Pagoda constructed by King Alaungsithu and Shwegugyi Temple also known as "Nandaw Oo Paya" built by King Alaungsithu in 1140 A.D. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples. Stay overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
Day 3 Bagan-Mandalay-Amarapura-Mandalay
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Arrive Mandalay, visit Amarapura where the most famous Mahagandayone Monastery is and more than a thousand of monks can be seen at the same time while they are having their 2nd or the last meal of the day, the monastery is reputed according to the Buddha teaching. After that proceed to a bridge called U Bein which was recuperated from the abandoned palace totally in teak wood across the lake of Taung Tha Man. Amarapura is a village well known for its silk products most of the Longyi (Sarong) for men and women are made there from simple pure cotton to high quality silk. On the way back to Mandalay, there is a chance to visit wood carving and stone marble carving if the time permits. In the afternoon, visit Mahamuni Buddha Image with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, Gold-leaf beating workshop, Shwe Nandaw Kyaung or Golden Palace Monastery - a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's biggest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Among the historical buildings, craftsmen’s workshop like Bronze casting, Marble stone carving, Kalaga tapestries, should be seen. Sunset and panoramic view from Mandalay Hill. Day 4 Mandalay-Mingun-Yangon
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After that, embark on a boat trip up the Irrawaddy River from Mandalay to the riverside village of Mingun, enjoying the picturesque scenery of this river and the lifestyles of the local people who live and work on these waters. Upon arrival, visit the Mingun Bell, which weight more than 87 tons and is more than 3.7m (12 ft) tall. It's the world's largest uncracked bell and it's in good ringing condition. Then continue to the Pathodawgyi Paya, built as one of the world’s largest pagodas by King Bodaw Paya and Myatheindan Zedi. Then back to Hotel in Mandalay. In the afternoon, transfer to airport and fly back to Yangon. Transfer to hotel and stay overnight.
Day 5 Yangon/departure
